My adventure to see the eclipse in Maine earlier this month.
Under all the trees were little eclipses for every spot of light coming through.
And Skippa was there with his dad!
A nice sunset from Skippa's dad's porch.
The rest are on video that requires editing, I hope to accomplish that tomorrow.

(97,571 posts)I was very impressed with his fine features, and his color is so rich. And, of course, he's a good boy!

(30,515 posts)most of the time, But he has his annoying moments, as you had to deal with. Grabbing all of your posts to share with fam and friends.

(97,571 posts)He really made efforts to do the right thing and he was good most of the time, he just wanted to run around and play more than we had energy to accomplish. It's not my first rodeo with an energetic and playful pup. Final verdict, he was a good boy.
The quality is what it is but you can see what it was, know what I mean?

(30,515 posts)Most of the time was dealing with the evil vine tree that needs to get eradicated. I:m gonna have a lot of crappy biomass to burn.
Even worse, I have 8-10 major trees down on the House North flank. A lot of standing rotten wood, that I really need to deal with....forest fire wise.

(97,571 posts)That vine monster looked like it would be a whole day's work just cutting it off at the bottom. Those downed trees will take some doing as well but some can be used for heat, eventually.
And Skippa is a big help I imagine. He is a fun dog.

(97,571 posts)A chippa to grind them up?
That stuff makes good walkway material for around your garden boxes and trails around the yard. It drains well and makes for swamp cooler effect in dry heat.

btw, the emergency break problem went away....take it nephew and treat it like the classic it will be.
2naSalit
(97,571 posts)Yeah, with the lot that you have going on there, that would be a sound investment.

(867 posts)Of course, Skippa in the sunlight is beautiful too! My cats have long shaggy coats so they do not glimmer in the sun like Skippa.

(97,571 posts)And he's funny.

I have to parcel out stills from the video, my project for tomorrow afternoon. It's a new medium for me with regard to editing, I'm a little daunted by the task.
OAITW.r.2.0 was such a great friend while I was there and I took a few pictures but during the eclipse I ran video trying to capture everything I could. It's my project for tomorrow, I need a couple hours to figure it out.

(30,515 posts)the current state of affairs. Everything else followed as I hoped and expected. Was not disappointed. Skippa says hello, I think.

On edit. That largest peak in the pic is Sugarloaf. It, too, is on the 45th parallel as I am. Which makes finding due west easy.

(30,515 posts)We got 7" of heavy wet snow that delayed your flight to Bangor. 1 week earlier we got 22" of dry powder. It was going when you took the Skippa....it's all gone now and the surface water as well.

(97,571 posts)Was covered in snow when I arrived which made sense since I flew through the last of the storm on Thursday night. The first pictures I took of the Skippa were in the snow. This one was taken Sunday afternoon.
You live on a hill, you have good drainage! Better than being in the marsh down the road.
Glad it's turning into spring there, we're thinking about it, not quite sure whether to snow, freeze, get too warm or just be windy and weird. Get some nice sunrise and sunsets.
