(154,856 posts)I was thinking earlier that it would make a better photo to wait just a bit, till the Golden Hour.
Thank you for your lovely remarks.

(154,856 posts)I'm so lucky--the Jacaranda flowers are right next to my deck; all I have to do is go out there, and there they are!

(154,856 posts)I'm sorry your day lilies are almost done. They are such a bright spot!
We are so lucky to have the Jacaranda. But they don't grow everywhere!

(1,094 posts)I dont think I've ever seen jacarandas before. I love purple!
Thanks again, CaliforniaPeggy, for all your wonderful photos! Do you put them in albums or keep them in your camera?
CaliforniaPeggy
(154,856 posts)Jacarandas are common here in Southern CA. Some blocks are covered with their flowers like a blue/purple haze.
Well, I store my best photos in a separate photo hosting site called SmugMug. I don't keep my photos in my camera any longer than it takes me to upload them into my computer. And I stopped using big, heavy albums when I stopped taking film pictures. That was a while ago!
Thanks for asking, and thank you for your lovely comments!

(21,412 posts)Jacaranda does not grow in my part of the U.S. (most of the U.S., actually, according to the range maps I just googled), so it's especially fun to see how beautiful those are.
Day lilies are a whole different story, lol. They are a very popular garden pllant around here, and they are all over the place for most of the summer. But they don't really get going for a couple more weeks, so these were a nice preview!
Thanks for the flowers!
CaliforniaPeggy
(154,856 posts)And you did your homework! I'm way too lazy, lol. I just want to play with my camera.
So thank you for the plant info! I didn't know any of that.
And I'm thrilled that you enjoyed my photos!

(255 posts)Dear Peggy,
They look like lavender silk. Something so soft and delicate. Makes me think of Wedding Bouquets! How special that would be!
Thank you!

(154,856 posts)I think you're onto something. Wedding Bouquets! That would be very special. I have no idea how well they would hold up as cut flowers, but it's worth a try!
I thank you.
