Taken August of 2023. I always wanted to get a picture of Mt. Shasta from this angle, and I finally had a clear enough road to take it.

(3,336 posts)Was in California for the first time several years ago. Went with a group to Mt. Lassen and Shasta Dam. Saw the mountain in the distance. Knew of course it was Mt. Shasta, but didn't know why it looked so familiar. Of course, it was Shasta soda from my 50s childhood, the ginger ale probably. A mundane memory source. I think it was glass bottles, .but what a powerful mountain. Would love to see it again, even from afar.
Thanks for this - beautiful.

Highway 89 Near McCloud, California
Spectacular photo of a spectacular mountain!!!
AND with an added bonus: a empty roadway and green surroundings. You can almost hear the quiet. Is that rain on the pavement ahead? And all those magnificent trees!
SPECTACULAR shot! The simplicity is just absolutely ravishing! WELL DONE, valleyrogue!!!

(255 posts)Dear Valleyrogue,
Do you ever take a bad photo? You really need to work on putting out Photo Books. They would sell like hotcakes!
I would love to see all those trees covered in Christmas Lights! I would like to say I can't imagine a more beautiful sight but somehow I think you are going to amaze me real soon! Wow!
