(26,541 posts)Do I see mountains in one of the sunset pics? Its the one thing I miss about Calif.

(8,872 posts)I'm guessing that when the sun sets over those hills will be the only time of year we'll see it setting before it reaches the tree lines again.

(12,074 posts)In the sunrise photo? I view t-posts and fencing in the background. Just curious.
Beautiful place. Awesome views. The sky in the sunset photo is amazing.
Great eye!

(8,872 posts)Our former farm is situated in what's called a high desert environment, with sweeping views. Twenty miles from town, the area is mostly open rolling hills with few trees. Farming country. Our neighbors were few and farther, than here, in between.
Here we are very close to town, like three or four minutes, if that. And twenty minutes from the city of Spokane. Neighbors are closer, their smaller acreages are fenced, as is ours. And we're "in the trees," without sweeping
views.
Nonetheless, it's a pretty countryside. Previous development seems to have kept a relatively good balance between dwellings and standing woodlands.

(8,872 posts)Our former farm had become unmanageable. Health concerns prompted a move much closer to family. Consequently we up and moved some two hundred miles to the east. About twenty miles north of Spokane.
I've sent you a DU mail message.
Thanks,
George

(8,872 posts)In that regard I'll re-post some of the former farm's sunsets from time to time. Still and all, sun rises/sets have their own merits in this place.
Thank You!
