(4,835 posts)Dear Peggy, I wish I knew more about photography so I could discuss intelligently how you get the effects you do. I really love the mixed focus on the second one. The pink and white flower - is it a ranunculus? - looks so fleecy. The eucalyptus and the crisp yellow of the lily make such a beautiful contrast. Thanks as always for brightening my day.

(154,856 posts)I try to focus on a group that has caught my eye while I'm shooting in F4, which gives me a very narrow depth of field.
And then in post-production, I just fiddle with the different sorts of effects till I get something that pleases me!
I'm not a technician at all! It's mostly flying by the seat of my pants to get the photo I see in my mind's eye!
