OK....today I'm gonna post some short videos from my rain forest, if that's OK.....

...I usually have trail cameras set up in the forest on my property and I get a variety of wildlife popping up around the cameras; ocelots, jaguarundis, ant eaters, coatis, agoutis, pacas, monkeys, bats, opossums, tayras, currasows, tinamous, and more. a few months ago, I got a surprise visitor show up on a trail cam that had been aimed high to see if I had poachers or other human visitors using my trails...because of that I only caught a cropped, split second of the back end and tail of the beast.

but, I could tell what it was and, boy, was I excited about it.

so, I set a couple cameras up on the trail, aimed low enough to get the full animal the next time he/she showed up.

and they (1 male and probably 2 different females) showed up at different times. here are the videos and you'll see why I was elated by their appearance:

Someone up thread mentioned jaguars, but I thought jaguars had spots.

I didn't realize their range extended that far south (although I guess there's no reason why it shouldn'tv ).

Congrats on catching so many images of these gorgeous creatures!

...then you probably have them in the area. they're secretive and hard to see. here in the golfito area, the population density has really gotten high, so, at times, people are seeing them even in residential areas during the day.
