I'm bad at bird identification. Sigh.
Took this photo on a recent trip to Canada. They are crazy over lupines, although here they are considered an invasive species. There are fields all over the place, and do look lovely.

Don't know if that's right, but Cornell has lots of info on sparrows! Good luck!

(42 posts)I am an experience birder and Savannah Sparrow was also my first impression. It looks too lean to be a chunkier Song Sparrow plus the streaking on the side of the breast looks to fine for Song Sparrow. Also, if you look really close there is a tiny bit of yellow in the lores.
