2. Street cars were very common back then, most every city had them

But the auto industry did a very good job of marketing and took over transportation. I often wonder if the trillions of dollars spent on cars went into public transportation how much better off we’d be.

Don't forget, the automobile was the solution to the pollution from the horses.

13. The amazing thing is that building at the end of the street

with the clock tower. That's the Ferry Building. It's all masonry and it survived the earthquake without major damage and still stands today.
