Is there a way to contact a commissioner?

Is there a general email: jo.smith@mn.gov or something?

Are representatives in their offices or are they gone until next January?

Thanks

1. Should have information at your county's website

The MN Dept of Administration site has a contact us page for the commissioner.
https://mn.gov/admin/about/who-we-are/commissioners-office.jsp

To find the commissioners for a specific county, you can also visit that county's official website. For example, Hennepin County has a page where you can find your commissioner by district. Similarly, Yellow Medicine County has a page dedicated to their commissioners.

to point the incompetence of agents who do not recognize QCD (donating IRA funds to charity) on Form 1040.

Notifying me that I did not report taxable income - the amount that was donated to charity..

Yes, I am appealing in writing but someone should be aware of this.

5. I hope you succeed in educating them ... I've been thinking about a QCD too, but haven't done it yet for I forget what

reason. (Even though I'm not of mandatory RMD age for regular traditional IRAs (and don't have any regular traditional IRAs anymore, yippee, I got them all converted to Roth slowly over a nearly 30 year period),

I have to take 5-digit RMD's for an inherited IRA, and have had to for about 20 years now since I inherited it -- inherited IRAs have no age limit).

I'm sorry to hear that QCDs are rocket science for those folks.

Although I try as hard as I can, I just can't seem to get around to thinking about my tax options until December. I still haven't finalized my notes from my TurboTax session in March (at least I got the filing done in March!) for example (when the sooner the better while I still have some memory of what went on to help me understand my draft notes made at the time).

I just wondered whether the agents are familiar with QCD, even provided a link to the IRS page.

i did not provide any specifics though, of course, with my name and address he can do some digging.

Will see.
