OKC-area voters approve school proposals, city council members in Feb. election

Across the state, 60 of Oklahoma's 77 counties voted on school propositions, mayors, or other elected city roles on Feb. 10.

When polls closed at 7 p.m., the Oklahoma City metropolitan area decided on two mayoral races, multiple propositions, and re-elected city councilmembers.

Oklahoma City residents re-elected Mayor David Holt, 46, for a third term with 86.48% of the vote, while his challenger, political newcomer Matthew Pallares, 34, received 13.52%.

Midwest City also decided a mayor's race, electing Rick Rice, 59, a former city prosecutor and city councilmember with 52.36% of the vote. He was challenged by Espaniola Bowen, 66, who received 20.63% of the vote, and Rita Maxwell, 78, who received 27.01% of the vote.
