'I want your voice to be heard': Committee uses phone bank to rally Oklahoma voters before primary
OKLAHOMA CITY A committee working to get voters to the polls in Oklahoma is ramping up its "get out and go vote" message one day before the primary election.
The Clara Luper Legacy Committee has been calling registered voters in Oklahoma County from a phone bank at Fairview Baptist Church. The goal is to reach as many people as they can to make sure they have their voices heard in Tuesday's election.
"I dont care who you vote for, but I want you to vote. I want your voice to be heard," said Marilyn Luper-Hildreth, a civil rights activist and Clara Luper's daughter.
It's a call to action that started with a phone call.
"We know that some people might forget to vote, but ours is to make them aware that tomorrow is a crucial day in our community, and we need their vote. We need to be heard," Luper-Hildreth said.
