Oregon's special elections are set for next week. Here's how to ensure your vote is counted

In less than one week, more than 1 million Oregonians will have the opportunity to cast their votes on local ballot measures in special elections occurring in almost half of Oregon counties.
The proposals include a Multnomah County initiative to levy an additional property tax charge of $1.40 per 1,000 feet of assessed property to fix playgrounds, restrooms and other local facilities, as well as a measure in Jackson County increasing the city of Medfords lodging tax by 1% to pay for a dedicated conference center or equivalent facility. Another proposal in Clackamas County seeks to authorize $245 million in bonds to cover improvements to infrastructure such as fire alarm systems and earthquake resilience for the Lake Oswego School District.
The other fourteen counties holding Nov. 4 special elections are Baker, Columbia, Coos, Klamath, Lane, Lincoln, Linn, Marion, Morrow, Polk, Umatilla, Union, Washington and Yamhill.
To have their votes counted, Oregonians need to make sure their ballots are in a signed ballot envelope and returned to a ballot box or county elections office by 8 p.m. on Nov. 4, or that their ballot receives a postmark by Nov. 4.
