Tennessee election officials urge voters to prepare now for Aug. 6 election
With the Aug. 6 election approaching, Tennessee election officials are urging voters to start preparing now to avoid problems at the polls.
The Tennessee Secretary of State’s office said local election commissions are working to make sure voters have the information they need before casting a ballot.
Washington County Administrator of Elections Chuck Vest said voters should confirm they are registered and remember to bring a photo ID.
"One just make sure that you have been registered to vote and bring your photo ID as we've always required but it's a pretty simple process. The wait time is minimal. People can generally be in and out within five to fifteen minutes and we're expecting to be a good election for us with a good turnout," Vest said.
