Government needs those because of competing agendas. The thing is, the people don't trust, because they don't know. They don't know, often due to willful ignorance anf/or neglect.

If Americans did their due diligence and were not vetting everything through a White supremacist, christo-capitalist lens, perhaps some trust in our government would be forthcoming.
