Live Nation rumored to be eyeing site for new venue near T-Mobile Park

Live Nation Entertainment (NYSE: LYV) is said to be eyeing a Seattle Mariners-controlled property across the street from T-Mobile Park for a new venue.

The parties have not denied it but aren't saying much for now.

"Multiple very qualified sources" say Live Nation is looking at part of the block where the Mariners operate the Boxyard venue, which includes Steelheads Alley taproom and Hatback Bar & Grille. This is according to a business executive who declined to speak on the record to protect business relationships.

An industry insider said he's "heard rumblings" about the project, and Sodo Business Improvement Area Executive Director Erin Goodman said last week she is "starting to hear (the talk) as well."
