MONROE Snohomish County is hosting its 20th annual farming and forestry conference on Nov. 5 at the Evergreen State Fairgrounds in Monroe to bring government officials, nonprofit organizations and agricultural professionals across the region together.
Agricultural economics professor John Ikerd from the University of Missouri, who spoke at the original conference, is returning to deliver the morning keynote speech, reflecting on the last two decades of agriculture and its evolution over the years.
Eric Snodgrass, an atmospheric scientist for the agriculture consulting company Nutrien, will present a winter weather outlook for Western Washington during lunch.
Im deeply grateful to all who work in farming and forestry. You do so much for our communities, our food security, and our economy every day, Snohomish County Executive Dave Somers said in a Monday press release. I will continue to support sustainable farming and forestry in our region. I look forward to many future opportunities for Snohomish County to work alongside farmers and foresters during our next 20 years of planting ideas and harvesting success.
