Would you pay $2600 for a smartphone ?

Huawei also showed next year's flagship. The third phone produced in partnership with Porsche, the Porsche Design Mate RS features the triple Leica in the P20 Pro, adding both an underglass fingerprint sensor, and wireless charging. It'll set you back 1,695 (£1485/ $2103) for the 6GB RAM/256GB storage model or 2,095 (£1835/ $2600) for the 6GB/512GB version, and is available from 12 April.

I dunno. If I had that kind of cash, it would have to be pretty incredible to buy it over a laptop with a larger screen that you can get more work accomplished on.

Not unless it also included a chainsaw, an espresso maker, and a pipe organ.

Maybe, if I had the cash. I'm guessing least a grand of that is the Leica camera in it.

(12,737 posts)3. Huawei is losing their retail in the US
Because of our government's refusal to use Huawei phone equipment here in the US, retailers are dropping Huawei. Fear of embedded spy shit is the reason.
AT&T, Sprint, Verizon, BestBuy are all dropping them.

Tracfone plan at about $8/mo. It meets my needs. Maybe another $3/mo. for data.

No thanks. Rather have a powerful laptop and a much more modest phone like a Pixel or Samsung Galaxy S9+. Phones are much easier to lose, drop or be stolen.

No, thank you but I would buy the P20 Pro without that Porsche Design.
