Anyone have a way to stop ai search crap on ipad mini in safari using google?

I have researched this and tried a few things, but it doesn’t seem to be working. At least not consistently and it keeps coming back. I tried an app suggested, and did as instructed but it’s not really working. Sometimes it seems to work however, if you click on the suggested questions when you search some of them are still AI crap.

At first, I was not so bothered by the AI search. It just seemed to be taking things from websites that it linked. Although it was much harder to search and find things I knew were available. But now it has expanded to actually giving opinions and a lot of misinformation which is alarming to me.

I used to get much better results just searching on my own for various articles and things that I wanted to research.

I was able to do it on my laptop easily though, in chrome anyway, with an extension that blocks it.

But I want something that will just do it automatically. I don’t want to have to type fuck or whatever and every time I search something lol 😹

On my phone … but if you add a curse word to the search , you will not get AI results .

It’s fun to add your favorite curse word to the end of ‘ why does AI ruin everything 💩’

ymmv

I’m surprised somebody hasn’t come up with something by now.

I switched my search engine to Duck Duck Go rather than Google. It's been far less intrusive and I recommend it. Perhaps that will solve your issue.

In google using safari browser on my ipad mini. Without typing fuck in etc. to stop it. While trying to figure this out, there were several methods, but none of them have worked consistently. In addition, I researched the other search engines and people said they also use AI including duck.

Good luck! Sorry my suggestion isn't your solution.

Our tech is going to get restricted, I'm afraid.

Not an option for me. I guess I could try the other browsers, etc., and see if they are any better. I just hate rearranging everything because I store some information for various sites that I use frequently.

I remember way back when when Google mail was just getting going and someone sent me an invite link to use it. Around that time, a friend of a friend thought Google was very evil and it was going to ruin the world, etc..

10. Google search is heavily if not entirely polluted with AI crap.

On purpose. I only use it in desperation because I am sure that they keep shadow profiles. And they hand out personal information for $$$$$.

The only reasonable thing to do is to use a privacy browser SEARCH ENGINE that does not store info beyond a day (which still might be too mich)

Oops, sesrch engine, not browser.

Or something like that, I forgot what it’s called now. I was thinking of switching to another search engine however it seems they all use AI search now.

I'd automatically dismiss the A1 box but I clear all cookies now and then, so it's nit remembered.

I am going to use A1 instead of AI from now on.

This moran is why.

I use firefox but this should work.

I went into settings in firefox and created a new search engine.

I called it "google with no ai"

Then I added this as the search string url:

https://www.google.com/search?q=%s&udm=14

(all one line)

Then I set the new search engine entry to the default search engine.

I still haven't found a way to do it, and also found that the extension I added to chrome in my laptop, only stops the top ai search crap.. if you click on the often unrelated and crazy suggested questions now added into your search, more than a few are ai. So frustrating as there seems to be no way to stop it really except the add an obscenity option and also you can click on web only at the top after you do your initial search, and it limits it to web only results, so far no ai.

But it's no where near the quality of searches I was able to do in the past pre ai. A lot of what I found seems to have been rendered unsearchable now or very hard to find. Which makes it important to email yourself something you want to save with the website etc.
