WASHINGTON Amtrak service has now resumed between Washington, D.C. and Philadelphia after an earlier disruption that led to multiple train cancellations Monday morning.
The company initially suspended service due to disabled equipment from one of its rail partners that was blocking the tracks. Service was expected to resume by 7 a.m., and it appears trains are now operating close to schedule. According to Amtraks website, trains originally scheduled to depart at 7:05 and 7:40 a.m. have since departed, and the 8:05 a.m. train is running on time.

Presumably this was a private "rail partner". I wonder if fines will be levied against this private company whose negligent upkeep caused the disruption of public services?

(65,162 posts)2. That means SEPTA, MARC, or NJ Transit.
Edited:
Since the disruption was between DC and Philadelphia, the other carrier was SEPTA or MARC.
Without looking, I think MARC goes as far north as Perryville MD, and SEPTA goes as far south as Wilmington DE. But for that gap, youd be able to ride commuter rail between DC and NYC.
