Grilled the burgers and served them on toasted sprouted multi grain bread with the usual fixings. Also made steamed broccoli with sliced mushrooms seasoned with Miyoko’s butter and mustard. Vegan chocolate chip cookies for dessert. Cheers! 🥂

It's too damned hot, and we have to drive out to where Christ lost his shoes to pick up a new ladder anyway.

The city, in their infinite wisdom, has decided to give me 5 days' notice to trim the alley trees to 14 feet above the alley surface. Guess who's going to be spending part of the weekend high in the air on an unwanted project. We lost a Little Giant several years ago to theft; this is as good a time to replace it as any. But there's no way they didn't know this is too short notice to hire anyone.

Fuckers.

By claiming an injury. As long as you schedule someone, there is no way they’ll give you a ticket for it. Got an injury from the past which could flare up? Use it.

You always have to think how things will sound to a judge. They know they’ll sound like bullies if they aren’t reasonable.

Especially if it’s going to be hot.

Bonus points if you’re a senior.

Don’t let these f*$#s ruin your weekend.

from a recipe I found decades ago and am making from memory: tomatoes, chiles and onions are first sauteed, then cream cheese is added and thinned with milk until it's the "right" consistency, and served with tortillas. More of a snack, but we went out for lunch today.
