With sautéed pear and grated nutmeg.

Also a tangerine salad using oak leaf salad greens. Sliced almonds and citrus dressing.

Dry ingredients: 1.5 cups flour, 3 tsp baking powder, 1/2 tsp salt, 3 tbsp sugar, and 3/4 cup Grape-Nuts. Honey or real maple syrup works too

Wet ingredients: 1 beaten egg, 1 cup milk, and 3 tbsp melted shortening (or butter).

Mix just until moistened, fill cups 2/3 full, and bake at 425°F for 18 to 22 minutes.

with a cheesy/over-easy egg on top.

Rice had a bunch of stuff I happened to have in the fridge: broccoli, carrots, peppers, onions, garlic and leftover kielbasa.

(I didn't use any soy or oyster sauce this time--it's a fried white rice)

coffee
