Photo around 1969. Brian Piccolo died in 1970 of embryonal cell carcinoma, an aggressive form of germ cell testicular cancer, first diagnosed after it had spread to his chest cavity.
Their friendship was made into the story/movie "Brian's Song". They were among the first group to have roommates assigned by position (halfback/fullback) and not by race.
