Right now, the Packers are in Dallas. They just kicked a field goal as time elapsed, and the game is tied. 37-37. That was the first field goal of the game. What a game.

(21,060 posts)But earlier in the day saw a big hulking WR sandwiched by two defenders and knocked out.
A bit too rough for my tastes when someone gets clocked.
I was a Boston/NE fan when Darryl Stingley was planted head first into the ground. He was paralyzed.
Name of safety redacted. He disavowed his nickname which others gave him.
Not hacksaw.

(686 posts)Dallas looked so bad last week against the Bears. The Packers are a superior team and yet the Cowboys slugged them into overtime and we end up in a (rare) tie!
I love it when games are exciting.

(24,622 posts)Agree that the Packers are the better team on paper, especially with Ceedee Lamb sidelined. But Dak played well and George Pickens, a clear WR2 stepped up and looked every bit a WR1 last night.
The byes start next week and Green Bay gets one. We won't see them in action again until Week 6.

(686 posts)Two games ended in ties that year. On 9/11/22, the Colts and Texans ended at 20-20, and on 12/4/22, the Washington team tied the Giants 20-20. This (GB-Dallas game) was the highest scoring tie in history.
By the way, in 2008 the Eagles and Bengals ended up in a 13-13 tie, and Philly QB Donovan McNabb said after the game that he didn't know it could end in a tie. So you're not the only one!

(75,664 posts)Ha, if the darn QB does not know a game can end in a tie, I don't feel so bad.
What about college ball, can those end in a tie too?
Angleae
(4,760 posts)Although I believe the rules change at about OT3 and you get the ball deep in your opponents territory.
Irish_Dem
(75,664 posts)But if OT3 is deep in enemy territory then OT won't last too long.

(4,760 posts)Admittedly, I don't watch college ball, but I've have seen on the NCAA website looking at the daily scores occasionally a 3OT and very rarely up to t a 8OT. A post on another board (football related board) went into detail about it after complaining about the NFL allowing ties.

(75,664 posts)If the Bucks went into 8OTs the entire fan base would have heart failure.
OSU fans are a bit on the anxious side.
The cussing would be epic.

(75,664 posts)Buckeye fans would go insane and the ERs would be full.
The alcohol poisoning alone would be a problem.
Children would be scarred for life by the epic levels of cussing.
OSU fans always cuss out their own team btw.
Not the opponent. Even when the Bucks are winning we cuss them out
most of the game for screwing up along the way. Those players never
play the way we want them to play. Darn kids.

(3,723 posts)Two teams evenly matched, at least they were last night.
I love football, too, it's a great diversion from the rest of the world and its never ending bullshit.
