Phillip Sedgwick: SkyScraping: To Honor the Solstice 20 June 2025

Yeah, I know I stated in my Máni SkyScraping post that I would forgo what would be my normal schedule of posts. But then, the influx of Solstice-themed posts originating from my peers made me realize I must to do something to honor the solstice happening later today, not to mention the Sun-Jupiter conjunction that follows.

Watching the world in whatever state of unravel it currently endures inspires establishes a time for perfectly appropriate application of whatever gifts as person bears to offer to the world. Mars in Virgo currently quincunxes Pluto in Aquarius and simultaneously quincunxes the Saturn-Neptune conjunction in Aries. How can one hold a perfect vision for aspirations amidst conflicting life demands and maintain a pure sense of personal power that causes a person to throb with the passion of life pursuit? Maybe the upcoming Mars to superclusters thingie helps.

Sure, some of what’s coming with Mars to the superclusters has been mentioned before, but as Virgo is inclined to cite, repetition is the mother of skill. Not only that, the superclusters lack extensive delineation into matters of the real world. Reminders are not nags, they simply confirm the check list of essential tasks are applied sequentially and in conformity with the greater galactic plan.

When the world feels most adrift, take time to secure your personal moorings. Is that a grannie knot holding you in place, or a perfectly-tied sheep shank? Mars wants to know - mostly if that knot is suited to the requirements of mooring. Generally, he’s not perceived as having manners, but he is inclined to set aside some of his testiness while dealing with Virgo and confirming that the best efforts per proper protocol are trending.

Mars conjoins a zodiacal congregation of superclusters from 1 July through 10 July. During that time several Virgo superclusters (Leo, Sextans, Coma and Vela) are in play. Consider that during this transit surge Mars provides the urge to perform a task that solves a previously unknown need. Tinkering develops methods for simplifying life’s annoying tasks. Similarly, this Mars movement highlights things like one position in life (and on the road of life), ones perceived stature in life, the integration of mundane and galactic perspective, and very important to successful solutions, appearance and presentation of the best ideas coming to mind rank high on the list of desirable attributes.

Check all grammar in your pitch deck, proposals and take time when speaking to select words that reveal innovation, context, thoroughness and excellence. Check the scale of the images in any image derived presentation. Does your hodgepodge collage look right? Do all the angles seen make sense? Is the orientation correct? Are things clear or is a subtext dictionary required to ascertain meaning? Are you sure what the words mean to you also fits what the words mean to others? Mars in Virgo loves to play connotation and denotation off each other.

As well, Mars in Virgo specializes in how to get there from here with the greatest of ease, efficiency and timeliness. All environmental elements factor into ways and means chosen. Bumps in the road, construction detours, storm flooding, unexpected sink holes or random unexpected factors need ample consideration. It’s about selecting an optimal track for any journey, long or short, with all known factors included in ones course decision. Things like, time of day, flow of traffic, is the Sun in your eyes when driving? Are there any potential acts of the deity that may derail progress? Of course, not every eventuality can be perceived in advance. That’s why planning to arrive fifteen minutes early is an excellent Mars in Virgo remedy and may avert some of the above.

At the end of July, Mars squares the Galactic Center while simultaneously quincunxing Chiron and Eris. Here it’s time to do things that others need, and as such, may welcome. This causes inclusion and healing of any sting of personally perceived isolation. And all while applying the progressive insights of the GC, though they may not make complete sense yet.

Mars does well to apply with enthusiasm all the groovy ideas and concepts spewed forth from the Galactic Center. When others marvel at task completion and personal efficiency, others are inclined to ask, how did you do that? Here there’s inclusion from others (Eris sensitive) and healing ones nature (Chiron) from any previously perceived isolationism. An important factor here with the Mars-GC thing... any idea applied needs to be more than a patch or temporary fix. The time calls for well-thought solutions that endure the test of time.

Notably, when Mars bounces over the line into Libra come August, he classically aspects Saturn and Neptune and Pluto. Then, he forms a trine to Pluto and opposes Saturn and Neptune. At the same time his warrior spirit engages the Super Galactic Center and the Virgo Supercluster. Trines, because of the ease they imply, can be easy to miss. The Mars and Pluto trine does sanction edgy, more on the extreme side options, as long as the end result truly favors the benefit of humankind. Naturally, with the opposition to Saturn and Neptune, clarifying the grand vision for all action engaged reduces knee-jerk resistance.

Not only does Mars in Libra conjure a trine to his co-ruler Pluto in early August, he trines Uranus, stationed in Gemini, forming a well-greased grand trine. Simply and elegantly, all this Mars in Virgo stuff happening throughout July, constitutes galactic mise-en-place in your personal cosmic kitchen.

As the Mars in Virgo transit unfolds, mind your manners... or more fundamentally, your mannerisms. Eyerolls in reaction to an absurd statement tend to bias and polarize all parties present. With a sharp tone of voice, or overly dramatic gestures, possibilities for the melding of minds, negotiations and agreements of life circumstances and solutions, may unravel the best of intentions. Perhaps the mantra should be modified to declare: mind your mannerisms.

More soon (and taking a look at Uranus in Gemini!)
