Related: About this forumMy wife noted something about the "Science on Saturday" series we attend every winter.
The flyer is here:
2026 Science on Saturday
The unusual thing is that all of the scientists speaking are women.
The series has long been hosted by Physicist and State Senator (D) Andrew Zwicker, who I hope will run for the 12th Congressional District seat to replace the retiring Bonnie Watson Coleman.
I don't know if the selection of all women to speak is a subtle comment on the pigs in the administration of the Orange Pedophile, but I applaud it.

(125,297 posts)to tell us that all of the lectures are on Sunday instead.
On a more serious note, I see three or four lectures on topics that capture my attention so I do have a little bit of envy. I suspect that you will provide a summary on one or more of the lectures as time permits. Please enjoy yourselves and keep learning.
And yes, I believe that the selection of all women to speak at the lectures is a not so subtle response in reaction to the policies of the current administration.

(37,257 posts)It may be related to cutbacks by the administration of the orange pedophile. (They also used to give free donuts; this year they are only offering coffee. This may cause a revolt, since the donuts - and bagels - have been a traditional "thing" about the event.)
However, the lectures, are recorded and archived.

I do sometimes report on the event here, usually with a link to the archived video.
