"Ceasefire committee to convene for first time since March 11"

This is the headline from a brief article from the Lebanese news site "Naharnet" dated 06/25/25. It sources information from the newspaper "al-Akhbar" noting that the "new" US General who is replacing the old US General that heads the committee will now begin the meetings again after they were suspended on March 11th.

So 90 days go by with no meetings to resolve complaints by all sides about violations. One could conclude that indicates this enforcement/monitoring that the committee is supposed to be doing is apparently a low priority for the member nations of the committee since a 90 day gap in decisions/actions for them is apparently thought to be peachy keen while people continue to die.

But is the new guy a glimmer of better things to come or is this just more words:

"The committee’s resumption of its meetings is supposed to reflect a new U.S. performance that is less aggressive and less biased in Israel’s favor, contrary to the term of Jeffers and his superior, former special envoy Morgan Ortagus,” al-Akhbar said."
