(33,534 posts)The First Kind: You spot something in the sky and it leaves no evidence.
The Second Kind: A UFO leaves some physical trace: burns on the ground or broken branches.
The Third Kind: You make contact with a U.F.O, you see some alien pilot aboard one or other life form.

The 2nd kind is finding physical evidence of something having been present, such as the ground being disturbed by "landing gear," or heightened levels of radiation above normal levels.
3rd kind is direct contact with the "aliens."
Got the movie on now, too.
I stood in line on Hollywood Blvd back in 1977 to see the first screening of it on opening day.

If/when I ever get my GReedDiamond animated logo done:
Two massive hands in space, approach planet earth, enclosing it between both palms.
When the palms are opened, earth has been transformed into a giant diamond floating in space...
I will post it to YouTube and let you know.

(69,954 posts)adults dont always know whats going on, and that they dont always have all the answers. That adults can be afraid and confused and uncertain.
I was amazed (come on, I was nine) that Roy formed such a close relationship with a woman who was not his wife. He and Jillian gave each other the strength to figure out what was going on, and help each other understand the magnitude of what was happening.
The clincher is when the score played When You Wish Upon A Star at the end. Telling me that grownups too have dreams and fantasies and desires and emotional needs.
Anyway, eye-opening movie for a kid.
