I highly recommend Mickey 17, which is an allegory for the dystopian times we live in.

(5,606 posts)But, that's a little disappointing, to be honest. I was so psyched for this movie when I first saw the trailer at the theater last fall. It's been an eternity watching all the dreck that's been coming through the local cineplexes just waiting for this movie to finally arrive. And, well, it was a little underwhelming. I wanted to love this movie, but I left the theater just liking it. The performances were good, but the tone seemed off. The trailers made it look like it was going to be more of a fantasy ala Terry Gilliam's Brazil.
And, on a not-unrelated note, the trailers for the movies coming soon were depressing. Everything was mostly either comic book-related or some kind of horror movie. Hollywood must think only 15 year-old boys buy tickets anymore. The only movie aimed at actual adults was the new De Niro movie where he plays the two gangsters. Fortunately it's only a few weeks until that opens.
