An interesting ending so no spoiler.
We watched it via Amazon Prime.

(2,521 posts)And you're right, I'm glad I wasn't forewarned about the ending, it was totally outside of the box the movie had drawn me into.
As an aside, we've attended the Palm Springs Film Festival for at least the last fifteen years. Six or so years ago, John Lithgow was in one of the featured movies and was in attendance. I forget the film we were watching, it wasn't the one he was in, but after the film was over they opened up for a few questions. The guy sitting right next to me raised his hand and I was totally stunned, it was John Lithgow! After he asked his question he left, all the while my mind was stumbling in a failed attempt to say hello and comment on his role in, yeah, that's right, I was so shell-shocked I couldn't think of a damned thing! Of course as soon as he left I came up with one. Oh well.
And I highly recommend Conclave!

(109,728 posts)I suggested the movie to my sister and others who asked questions about how the conclave works. A few have watched it and found it boring. I guess that they thought it was going to be like some Da Vinci Code movie and a thriller.
I thought it was very well done with a great cast. I particularly liked that they gave Issabella Rossolini's character opportunities for "side-eye" and to confront the Cardinals at some point. The ending gave a nice little twist.
So, no. It was not some fantasy movie, but more based on truth and human nature than not, and very well presented

(25,469 posts)While I didn't know exactly how it was going to end, I thought the previously unknown cardinal from Afghanistan seemed a bit feminine. I suspected something was up with his character.
It funny because my wife totally missed the ending and thought Ralph Fiennes was elected Pope. She watched it on a plane and was pretty distracted viewing it.
