Got tickets to Top Gun tomorrow. The reviews seem to be

Very positive and I just heard the box office returns so far on NPR. It's a mega hit.
I can't do spoilers since I haven't seen it but my guess is Tom Cruise wins.

That doesn't mean it won't be crowded, though, but maybe not as bad as later shows.

Very much looking forward to it. I was a young teen when the original came out. It was amazing at the time, so I'm trying not to set expectations too high!

if they nominate Val Kilmer for an Oscar....he earned it in Tombstone and has had an amazing achievement list of roles/ films.

Just a thought.

(Cinemark discount Tuesday) and we were probably 2 out of a dozen folks for this matinee showing. I enjoyed the first Top Gun and this one, Top Gun-Maverick sequel, was more exciting but a lot less romantic. The nostalgia was well done as well, and I didn't feel it was smaltzy either. Great action re-do; thumbs up! NO SPOILERS
