Tempo star Marina Mabrey ties WNBA record for most three pointers in a game
Toronto Tempo guard Marina Mabrey tied a WNBA record on Friday for most three-pointers in a game with nine. She accomplished the feat in a 101-97 win over the Connecticut Sun. With the win, the Tempo reached the .500 mark as they are at eight wins and eight losses.
Mabrey becomes the sixth player in WNBA history to have nine three-pointers in a game. Rhyne Howard of the Atlanta Dream accomplished the feat twice. The other four WNBA players to have nine three-pointers in a game are Kelsey Mitchell of the Indiana Fever, Jewell Lloyd of the Seattle Storm, Arike Ogunbowale of the Dallas Wings and Chelsea Gray of the Las Vegas Aces.
So far this season, Mabrey is averaging 19.1 points per game, 3.7 assists per game, 3.3 rebounds per game, and 1.2 steals per game. She has a field goal percentage of .441, three point percentage of .391, and a free throw percentage of .868.
Mabrey is second on the Tempo in points per game. Brittney Sykes leads the team with 20.1 points per game.
