They were inspecting Germany at the time. Russians benefited too, learning new war making techniques.

They were devastated by WWII, by the Germans, who they fought on their own land. I visited the then-USSR in 1986 with my grandmother who joined a peace group which had a "sister town" there. And we saw photos of centuries old historic sites turned to rubble by the Germans which they managed to rebuild using the original plans. And there were areas where they were still rebuilding decades later.

And speaking of generals, how many has TFG-Musk fired so far?
