Why Trump can't bring down prices in the US DW News

Germans thinking Trump might have to eat his words.

Some good insights about big corporate egg farms and idiotic trade war with out biggest import partner.

I like eggs but it looks like we may have to switch to soy for cheap protein. The US is about to be in a soybean glut when China buys less of ours.

1. Realistically, no one entity has the power to really regulate prices at the countertop/check out isle. The ol' boogie

man Mr. Inflation and Mr. Supply & Demand play more of a role in determining pricing, plus crowd/mob mentality, that is, if people think that there's a shortage in something, then by golly there will be a shortage of that item. Almost a self-fulfilling prophecy, eh? What the crowd wants is almost guaranteed, but the thing is, that by the time the crowd figures out what it wants, it's too late most of the time, those items are already long gone off the shelves.

It seems like the best thing to do is to go about your own when to buy etc. items in bulk, constantly keep stocking up, filling up your cabinets and food storage, rotating things as appropriate so things won't get aged off/spoiled, etc. The ol' survivalist routine. All of us in some manner if we can, should be doing this sort of thing (stocking up), just in case things go to hell in a picnic basket, and shortages become common place.

Everything seems to have a yearly cycle or something akin to some sort of cycle, so try and plan bulk purchases of certain items during those times. It is better for you pricewise, and plus, you're not straining supply lines.

3. Inflation is not some self-aware monstrosity...

... that roams the countryside like a force of nature, driven only by its own malevolent gratification of its bottomless greed. It is, quite simply, corporatists engaging in price gouging for their own financial benefit, and, with Republicans in control of everything, it ain't gonna change anytime soon.
Witless shitheads blamed Biden for something over which he had no control whatsoever. Oh, he could have made bombastic claims, and called people names, but it would have been, like Trump, sound and fury signifying nothing.

Since they made it such a big campaign issue and then decided to make it worse.
