Schumer slams Trump for tolerating antisemitism: 'He's not protecting Jewish people' - All In - MSNBC

“Trump has far too often tolerated all kinds of antisemitic things. He regards the Jews as transactional. So money? The Jews. Votes? The Jews. But no real understanding of who we are,” says Sen. Chuck Schumer. - Aired on 03/18/2025.

Sounding off now on this issue does not rehabilitate Senator Schumer's erstwhile (if ever) image as a patriotic statesman who is a stalwart of the Senate and a guardian of human rights. He had a chance to fight, but he chose not to do so, voting instead with Trump's allies to invoke cloture.

Defeating one's political opponents is never done through quailing or simpering acquiescence to their demands.

Out of touch, inarticulate and a little out of his mind quite frankly. Nothing short of Trump defying the Supreme Court would be enough for him to say our democracy is in crisis. And, even then, it will be up for “the people” to rise up in order for things to move in the right direction politically. He’s a spectator watching Trump’s game.
