Trump's nightmare disaster: Ari Melber reports on how Musk cuts could backfire on America and GOP - The Beat - MSNBC

Ari Melber's special report documents the alarming history showing the cost of slashing rules and regulations, as Trump and Elon Musk cut government oversight. Drawing on exhaustive reporting, history, policy findings and iconic films based on real-world deregulatory horror stories, Melber meticulously shows specific examples of how massive deregulation can fuel major disasters that far outstrip its estimated "savings," plus the human toll. - Aired on 04/16/2025.

Relative to rules and regulations. I was a very junior Sailor way, way back in the last century. I observed to Senior Petty Officers arguing vehemently about the correct way to do something. A very important something. Unbeknownst to the three of us our crusty old Senior Chief was listening to the conversation. He let it go on for a time and then asked the argument stopping question in a very loud a grumpy manner. “What’s the fucking Book say?” I remember it as if it were yesterday. Turns out both combatants were wrong and with a little guidance the right way prevailed. I’ve always been a fan of rules and regulations. I’ve never been a Republican, nor a fan of them.

3. We know that TFG has never read the Constitution, despite his taken an oath to uphold it

He's also the only president in history to have bee impeached twice - but that has had no influence on his behavior. As he has done in the past, he continues to break U.S. law every single day.

Cause it’s chock full of rules and regulations.

I hope he becomes the only president to be impeached three times.

However, like the impeachment vote after the devastating violence of January 6th, the Republican majority will be too afraid of threats to themselves and their families to vote yes.

The threats will go away. And pro trump pols will be primaried. Mess with old folks social security and they’ll forget what party they belong to. But will remember who is doing the messing. I punched that clock 50 years ago.

7. According to Liz Cheney's book, that was one of TFG's threats to Republicans who voted yes on the January 6th impeachment

Of the 10 brave House Republicans who voted yes on TFG's second impeachment, only 2 of them were reelected. And the dissolution of our democracy is happening so fast, it's been increasingly asked if we'll ever have another election. That's why the time to act is now - but how? TFG ignores the courts, he has paralyzed Congress. And he continues to threaten American citizens.

Autogenocide exposes how states drive populations to destroy themselves through poisoned environments, collapsing healthcare, misinformation & engineered despair.

It's mass death by design & by the outright neglect of society.

AKA social murder.

Author and journalist Chris Hedges claims "ruling elites" are the "architects of social murder" by accelerating ecological collapse and climate change:

What is taking place is not neglect. It is not ineptitude. It is not policy failure. It is murder. It is murder because it is premeditated. It is murder because a conscious choice was made by the global ruling classes to extinguish life rather than protect it. It is murder because profit, despite the hard statistics, the growing climate disruptions and the scientific modeling, is deemed more important than human life and human survival.

President Psychopath's cabinet is there by design. It's their assigned duty to destroy the rest of us.

And Republicans in Congress deny it. I keep thinking of the Republican with the snowball who brought it to argue against "global warming."

Are selectively educated idiots. They are intentionally not well read. It gives them plausible deniability which leaves them more time to hoard money and plot evil deeds.

They're so selfish and shallow. It's like they've lived their entire lives going around with their fingers in their ears going "la, la, la, la, la, la" ad infinitum to block out society.

Whose only excuse for a rare town hall is over the phone where she blocks those who disagree with her or ask questions she doesn't like. She really only answers to a constituent of one.

I subscribe to AOC's newsletters (and she has amazing in person town halls) since she's also from New York and Bernie's state is right next door, I went to summer camp in Vermont for six years growing up.
