Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy commented Friday on the temporary pause in strikes on energy infrastructure between Russia and Ukraine. "The day began with reports from the regions: in all of our regions, there were indeed no strikes on energy facilities overnight on Friday. Almost none. Except for the Donetsk region, where there was one strike on gas infrastructure, an aerial bomb attack," Zelenskyy said in his daily briefing.
During his speech, the Ukrainian leader also noted the country's readiness not to carry out strikes on Russian energy facilities "symmetrically" for a week. "The American side spoke of refraining from strikes on energy facilities for a week, and tonight the countdown began. It depends on our partners, of course – on the United States – how all this will go. Ukraine is ready to refrain from strikes symmetrically, and today we did not strike Russian energy facilities," he added. - 01/31/2026.
