But please, please, listen to the man. We cannot coast. We cannot ride the high horse or the betting markets or the prognosticators of any ilk whispering that November is in the bag. Wilson has played this 'game,' now a cold civil war, for decades. He's speaking with knowledge from behind the lines. Republicans will do ANYTHING to win and if they were to win we can kiss our lives away.
Redistricting is NOT a bluff. We should all acknowledge that the GOP doesn't care about the law or norms or tradition going back to George Washington to our current moment. SCOTUS has made it clear they are in the same bucket. We are, indeed, in a metaphorical gun fight.
A recent example is Orban's defeat in Hungary. Orban was entrenched, 16 years in the making. Magyar won by tying Orban and his party to the massive corruption that had sent tentacles throughout the country. Magyar brought the receipts, made the indisputable argument that the lives of Hungarians were stunted and made miserable, that their liberties had been restricted and hollowed out by the demoralizing corruption under Orban's 'leadership'.
Hungarians listened and threw the bums out with massive numbers.
Every Republican candidate needs to be clobbered with the message: Republicans have been the thieves in the night. Now, they're the thieves in broad daylight. Trump isn't making Americans rich; he's making himself, his billionaire donors and courtiers rich through every grift imaginable.
We need to listen to Wilson's warning. This is our last chance to save the future.
