Islam is pretty well spread out here in western and northern Europe. Most Muslims are peaceful and tolerated with little resentment. The trouble is that the ones who love to blow up crowded airports, while few in number, look exactly like the ones who do not. Then they all get tainted with the brush of "terrorist," and resentment breeds more resentment. I have worked for decades with outfits here who have employees named Fathima, Aziza, Kareem, etc etc., and our local fruit and vegetable shop addresses me as Effendi. I don't give it a second thought. If some Islamists blow up an airport here (it has happened before) I still wouldn't give a second thought to the people I know. But I don't know most of them, and there is no way to tell who means harm and who does not--and ALL of us hate it, because there is nothing we can do about that.
Sure, the moment a missile is launched, the heat trail can be detected and the site bombed within minutes. We can also be sure that the Iranians know that, and are making their launches, to the extent practical, from mobile launchers far away from the base from which they originated. Trump can crow the next morning that the site of the launch was obliterated. He would conveniently forget to mention it if that site was out in the desert somewhere with no sign of civilization within 50 Km. If one of Trump's missiles blows up in the desert with no one within hearing distance, did it make a sound? Because it sure didn't make a difference.
