...the Democratic Party (and more importantly, America) is where we are today.

After Mondale lost 49 states, the Party began moving to the right. Democrats abandoned the air traffic controllers, and unions more generally. There was a movement to the political right. The Party has now come so far to the right that we are far to the right of where Republicans were even in the 1990s.

I don't think pragmatism has worked very well for either the Party or the Nation. In fact, I know it hasn't.

And deep down so do you.
