Trump slashed jobs and programs, financially the US flying into the crapper.

Those jobs paid workers. The workers spent the money that they earned into the economy. The money further turned over and over in the economy as those who earned the money spent it. This is called the velocity of money.

It was never about improving the economy by cutting back on spending. That was a lie.
