Iran’s exiled crown prince says a revolution in his homeland can be led not from the streets of Tehran, but in an 18th-century conference center in the heart of Paris.
It’s a pitch that is inspiring hope, wariness and outright hostility among Iranians, even as President Donald Trump announced a ceasefire between their country and Israel. Trump had just days ago pondered the idea of regime change — the overthrow of Iran’s ruling theocracy — something seen here in the French capital as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
“I am here today to submit myself to my compatriots, to lead them down this road to peace and a democratic transition,” Reza Pahlavi told a room of fewer than 100 people Monday. “I do not seek political power, but rather to help our great nation navigate through this critical hour toward stability, freedom, and justice.”
NBC News was among a clutch of journalists who attended the press conference in Maison de la Chimie, in Paris’ 7th Arrondissement, not far from the Eiffel Tower, to hear Pahlavi’s vision.

And the US needs to STAY THE HELL OUT OF IT! The last time we got into messing with Iranian politics (1953) it eventually led to what they have now.
