... is a defining characteristic of the conservative mind. Ayn Rand's hatred of altruism, Musk's contempt for empathy, and the inchoate malice that underlies every Republican's decision-making process, to one degree or another, are illustrative of the fundamental premise of their political "philosophy", such as it is: Take from the disadvantaged, and lavish largesse on those who don't need, or deserve it, but who might reward you with bribes thinly disguised as, "campaign contributions".
Like every mental aberration, conservatism exists on a spectrum. Trump's words and deeds have redefined the depth of the Dark End of that spectrum, God fucking help us all.
