A South Korean battery company tried to open a huge plant in a Northern Michigan town that desperately needs jobs. Was going well until Republican politician started talking about China and the Chinese Communist Party. Project basically canceled and that town will remain a desolate wasteland indefinitely. This was going to be thousands of well paying permanent jobs that would have transformed this town.

We live in a post truth world where slogans can make people take actions to harm their own wellbeing.
