Walters, who has been a controversial leader of the Oklahoma State Department of Education, made the announcement on Fox News. He said he plans to join the the Teacher Freedom Alliance
Walters on Wednesday night said, "I'm excited to announce I'll be stepping down as Oklahoma State Superintendent and taking on the role as the CEO of the Teacher Freedom Alliance."

The Oklahoma State Board of Education will hold its September meeting on Thursday at 9:30 a.m. The agenda for the meeting says Walters will have remarks at the beginn
