In 2011, 27-year-old teacher Ellen Greenberg was found dead in her Philadelphia apartment with 20 stab wounds and multiple bruises. Her fiancé, Samuel Goldberg, found her body and called 911. The death was initially ruled a homicide by the medical examiner, but was later changed to a suicide after a meeting with police, who cited an internal lock on the apartment door and no signs of a struggle as evidence against a homicide.
Alleged Conflict of Interest: In July 2022, an independent journalist alleged that Shapiro had a personal connection to the Greenberg/Goldberg/Schwartzman families (the fiancé's family) through campaign donations and a shared private school connection. The fiancé's uncle is a politically connected judge.
The only reason I know this is because I'm a follower of true crime. One of my favorite YouTube channels is "Surviving the Survivor." They and several other Channels (YouTube), have given this case attention. I don't know a whole lot of details, but the family and the hosts bring up Shapiro's name in a very negative light. I think it could be a problem.
