And money was taken out of your checking account immediately, not 'float time' anymore. Why? Because banks could run check thru a computer system at the end of the day. The money got transferred IMMEDIATELY! People who were counting on that good ol 'float time' it used to take from the time someone cashed your check until it was cleared from you checking account got hit with LOTS of overdraft charges. Banks make a lot of money on those charges.

The banks were getting all those overdraft charges because they went along with the new clearing procedure. They had to buy new comupter system to do all that. The maker of that computer system, the company that made a shit load of money because every bank in the US had to buy one? Diebold!

Cheney made sure they controlled vote counting via Diebold machines and he made sure Diebold and banks made a lot of money for going along.
