During the Iraq invasion, Cheney and Rumsfeld picked troop transports through ares known to be hostile, and they made no effort to reinforce the vehicles. Bullets and bomb fragments penetrated their sides as if they were made of cardboard. Nine billion dollars in hard U.S. cash disappeared somewhere in a rural area of Iraq, but the Cheney/Bush administration couldn't pay for protective vehicles for our troops riding through areas known to be highly dangerous. We don't yet have troops on the ground in Iran (which is why most of them are still alive), so I guess this is the current method of waging war "economically."
