Yesterday

from consciously acknowledging that he is not universally adored. The personality disorder of narcissism is a defense mechanism that protects the ego of a deeply insecure person. If there is any scrap of self-awareness in Trump's subconscious mind that recognizes that he is actually very unpopular, his narcissism steps in and defends that ego, which is why his behavior is so extreme when he's criticized.
