remember the welfare queens? Or people buying steaks and lobster with snap? all while sitting home and doing nothing but collecting everyone else's hard earned money. Of course it doesn't work that way; and you can bet that any money made is an automatic decrease in benefits allowed.

I THINK I just finished doing the Medicaid end of life stuff for my Mom. I've sent in the final paperwork; tho I haven't heard back from anyone to tell me the case is closed. She ended her life pretty much destitute except for her SS check. All other assets were spent on her paying the nursing home while she had any assets. To that point, we sold everything in order to pay for her memory care. But these guys want to make sure you died destitute, or they'll claw back anything and everything. It's a hell of a thing to go through while you're still so fresh in the initial stages of grieving.
