...has been a massive strategic boost since World War 2. Trump seems to have no idea what soft power is and its importance in promoting and maintaining US global leadership.

Foreign development and international student education are two of the foundations of the US's global soft power. And the Old Man seems hellbent on destroying both.

China and to a lesser extent Europe are rapidly taking advantage of the vacuum that the US is leaving in both areas.
